Coastal Hues

“For the past three months, I’ve been painting intensively with deep feelings of escaping reality by creating imaginative landscapes and seascapes. In my new body of work, you will see some pieces that emphasize the emotion in the clouds, while others express the abstraction of nature in a way that I have never done before. Some of these pieces, especially the ones with lots of trees by the bayous express feelings of being in the wilderness. When you come closer to the work, you will discover lots of textures, mark making, and a pop of unexpected color, that will leave you with an effect of surprise.” -- Monique Carr
